JEWELRY CARE

SOLID GOLD

Solid gold pieces are pretty low maintenance and can withstand showering, sleeping, and working out while wearing them. Given the right care, there is no reason solid gold pieces should not be in your family for generations to come. Here are a few things to keep in mind while wearing your gold jewelry:
  • Chlorine is gold’s enemy. With repeated exposure, chlorine will weaken your gold jewelry’s structure and eventually lead to it breaking.
  • Wearing jewelry daily while you bathe or workout can lead to a buildup of soap, lotion oils, makeup and more which can cause a film to build up that dulls the jewelry
  • To keep it shiny, clean your jewelry regularly with a solution of 10-parts warm water and 2-parts dish soap. Soak your gold jewelry and then scrub them gently with a very soft brush. Rinse under clean water and blot dry with a cloth. For an extra shine, use a jewelry polishing cloth afterwards.
  • Store in a clean, dry, fabric-lined jewelry box or wrap each piece in a soft cloth. Store jewelry individually to prevent from tangling or scratching each other.

GOLD VERMEIL

To get the longest last out of your gold vermeil jewelry limit exposure to moisture. While gold vermeil can resist tarnish from showering, sleeping, and working out, your jewelry will last much longer if you put it on after you’ve gotten ready, wear it for a few hours, and place it back in its box when done. Avoid exposure to house hold cleaners or chemicals. To clean simply use a soft bristle toothbrush or microfiber or polishing cloth to wipe clean.

STERLING SILVER

Much like gold vermeil pieces, silver should be kept away from moisture. Keep your silver jewelry away from water, lotions, and household cleaners. Chemicals and contaminants can lead to your pieces tarnishing.                                                                                                                                                  The great thing about silver is that it's very easy to clean if it does tarnish Use a microfiber or jewelers polishing cloth to buff tarnished areas in an up and down motion (not circular). You also have the option of storing with silica gel packets to wick away moisture.

HOW DO I USE MY POLISHING CLOTH?

To keep your piece looking its best, gently rub the surface in an up and down motion (not circular) with the polishing cloth. Always wash your hands afterwards use to ensure the cleaning agent is removed.
It is normal to see dark residue on the cloth, it’s a sign that it is working correctly! The cloth contains a small amount of cleaning agent which will hold on to any dirt, oil & residues that are removed from the surface of the item being polished. Never wash the polishing cloth as it will lose its effectiveness. Keep out of reach of children.
