How do you pronounce CaWren?

We get asked this all the time. The trick to remember is the "W" is silent. It's Ca-Ren.

Is CaWren jewelry real?

Simply put yes. Our 14k solid gold is real solid 14k gold. Our 14k gold vermeil is a thick 2.5 micron layer of solid gold over a 925 sterling sliver base. Gold Vermeil is recognized by the National Jewelers Association of America as a precious material used in the manufacturing of precious jewelry.

Can my jewelry get wet?

Yes, our 14k solid gold jewelry can get wet but remember all gold jewelry should avoid contact with choline which can fade and weaken the gold.
For our silver and gold vermeil items we discourage against excessive exposure to moisture but it is fine if the jewelry gets wet. Being that some types of chlorine and other chemicals can discolor even solid gold, we do recommend against excessive exposure to swimming pools or saunas. These items will enjoy the longest lifespan if you avoid exposure to liquids. With diligent care gold vermeil can last as long as solid gold.

What is gold vermeil?

Pronounced "ver-may", the FTC requires gold vermeil jewelry to have sterling silver as the base metal and be plated with at least 2.5 microns of at least 10k gold. At CaWren we use 14k. This combination means your gold plating stays on longer because of the thickness and gold's affinity to tightly bond to silver.
In comparison jewelry simply labeled "gold plated" could have a variety of cheap base metals such as brass or steel and the gold plating is very thin, wearing off quickly.

How long does gold vermeil last?

The plating on gold vermeil items will not wear off quickly like cheap forms of gold plating. Various factors determine the lifespan of you jewelry, the largest being how you wear and care for it. Handle your jewelry with care and do not allow it to be banged or dented frequently. With good care a few years could pass before any sort of fading or loss of color occurs. With diligent care gold vermeil can last longer.

Are your materials ethical and sustainable?

Yes. Our LA made pieces are designed and crafted by our team and independent contractors working under ethical labor conditions and paid fair wages.
In house products are produced from reclaimed gold and humanly sourced precious metals.

How do I care for my jewelry?

For Solid Gold:
When you're not wearing your jewelry, be sure to store it in a clean dry place and not against other jewelry. This helps prevent scratching. Limit exposure to chlorine. Clean as necessary by lightly brushing with a toothbrush and warm water. Buff with a polishing cloth when needed.

For Sterling Silver and Gold Vermeil:
When your not wearing your jewelry, be sure to store it in a clean dry place and not against other jewelry. This helps prevent scratching and maintain the color. To keep your piece looking its best the longest remove jewelry when applying scents, lotions and sprays and avoid exposure to liquids and chemicals. To clean, gently rub the surface with a polishing cloth. We discourage against excessive exposure to moisture, but it is fine if it gets wet. Over time however this could decrease the lifespan of your jewelry.

What if my ring does not fit?

What if I lose 1 earring?

If you’ve lost an earring and you’re not sure what to do with the remaining one, we have a few solutions for you. CaWren Concierge maybe able to convert your remain earring into another piece of jewelry or replicate it to make a full pair again. Email ContactUs@CaWren.com to get started.

Can I cancel my order?

Because most of our jewelry is custom made to order, we have a small window for cancellations. Please email contactus@cawren.com with the subject line "URGENT CANCEL" within 2 hours of placing your order if you'd like to cancel.

Can I edit my order?

Our team works hard to get your orders in production as quickly as possible. If you'd like to make changes please email contactus@cawren.com with the subject line "URGENT CHANGE" within 2 hours of placing your order. Otherwise, we may not be able to update your order in time.

Can I change the address on my order?

Please reach out to us within 2 hours of placing your order and we will try our best to accommodate the change. Email contactus@cawren.com with the subject line "URGENT ADDRESS CHANGE". Once an order has shipped, we are unable to change the address.

Is it safe to use a credit card on your site?

Shopping on CaWren.com is safe. We use a SSL certificate to ensure ask transactions are secure.

How soon will my order ship?

For ready made items, (all chains and most earrings without gem stones) your order will dispatch from our facility with 1-4 business days. If your order consists of made-to-order pieces (including engraving and monogrammed pieces) it will dispatch within 3-10 business days.

How do I know when my order is shipped?

You will receive a confirmation email once your order ships. Be sure to check your SPAM email folder if you don't.

How long does shipping take?

All orders are shipped through USPS First Class mail which typically takes 2-8 days. Need it sooner? Click here to add one "Rush Order" per product to cart or search "Rush Order" in the search bar. Rush Orders dispatch in 1-3 business days and are shipped via USPS Priority Express with overnight - 2 day postal guarantee.

Will my packages require signature?

No, CaWren Jewelry does not require signature upon delivery. Most customers prefer this. If you would like your package to require signature please click here to add Signature Required or search "Signature Required" in the search bar and add before checkout.

Returns

Can I return an item?

Customer satisfaction is our priority. If you’re unhappy with your order, we will gladly accept returns (*exclusions apply) for store credit or exchanges. Please reach out to us at ContactUs@Cawren.com within 10 days of delivery to initiate a return. Items must be returned unworn and in original packaging. See return policy for full details.

Can I get an item repaired or altered?

We make our products to last. All orders come with a 1 year product guarantee. Should you experience any defects in craftsmanship or breakage due to manufacturer defects we will make one free repair or exchange your purchase. Guarantee is voided for user caused damage and does not cover lost/stolen items including lost stones. Email contactus@cawren.com providing order number and proof of defect (images). Upon inspection, if we determine that the damage is not caused by a manufacturing defect, you will be notified with a repair quote if applicable. See our repair policy for full details.
